Pittsburgh's Top 7 Fall Activities
As the Pittsburgh summer has faded, fall is now upon us. Fall is one of our favorite seasons for a variety of reasons. One of the main reasons we love fall is due to the fact that Pittsburgh has an abundance of great festivities and events during this time of the year.
For this article, we came up with a list of our 7 favorites!
Dates: October 11, 12, 13
Fort Ligonier Days commemorates the Battle of Fort Ligonier. The Battle of Fort Ligonier was a key battle fought in the French and Indian War in 1758. This is the 60th year that the festival has been running and features over 200 craft booths as well as a host of delicious food options.
Dates: October 4th, 5th, 11th, 18th, and 25th
The Gateway Clipper fleet has been sailing Pittsburgh's Three Rivers for over 50 years. The fall cruise features a tasty autumn lunch while taking in the sights of the Pittsburgh fall foliage.
#3 Phipps Conservatory Fall Flower Show
Opens October 19th
The most popular Phipps' attraction is their Christmas display. But did you know that Phipps' has the longest-running fall flower show in the United States? The fall arrangements feature inspirations from Japan that embody the spectacular festivals held there.
Dates: October 19 & 20
Pumpkin lovers can get their fix the weekend of this event! The festival features a costume 5k, pumpkin regatta, giant pumpkins and pumpkin sculptures, and most astoundingly, and even pumpkin pie eating contest.
#5 Castle Blood

Voted the #1 haunted house in Pennsylvania, Castle Blood is considered to be a unique haunted and theatrical attraction. The production is held in a historic 100-year-old funeral home and has been in action for over 25 years. It also features a haunted adventure tour as well as a game that changes every year.

The Nightmare on Carson is a costume themed, bar crawl. Dress up in your best costume while visiting 10+ bars in the South Side.
Autumnfest is Seven Springs' fall celebration. Each weekend focuses on a different theme

The mountain resort hosts live music, artisans and crafters from all over, and beautiful fall scenes.
